The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore has banned its former Chief Casino Officer from entering the property for allegedly poaching employees. Andrew MacDonald, who now works in the same position for rival casino Resorts World Sentosa, posted an image of the persona non grata notice on LinkedIn.

Dated July 31, it informs the Australian native that he is not allowed to enter any part of the Marina Bay Sands property until further notice. The casino company can pursue legal action if he tries to violate the ban.

MacDonald tried to poach staff and customers last month

According to IAG sources, the reason for the notice is that MacDonald tried to poach staff and customers last month. He worked at the property for nearly a dozen years before departing near the end of 2021.

MacDonald denies the allegations and said that his recent visits to the Marina Bay Sands were for social reasons and that while he had interactions with two high rollers, he said these were incidental conversations and he didn’t initiate them.

Responding to a request for comment from IAG, a spokesperson for the Marina Bay Sands said that it doesn’t make restriction decisions lightly and that the reasons for the decision are confidential.
